Dennis Simpson – Total Tech of AR

Dennis Simpson

Dennis Simpson

Dennis Simpson, originally from Benton, AR has been a life long Techie. At the age of 14 he was sound man at 1st Southern Baptist Church, Bryant AR. Ah the Bogen Amplifier days with four knobs and a graphic equalizer. After graduation from Bryant High School he attended Southern Baptist College (now Williams) and was the (you guessed it) Sound Guy for the Southern Singers and a singer with the group. Returning from college Dennis then became the Music Director at 1st Southern Baptist Church, Bryant AR and started Best Printing Company with his father, Eulan Simpson. In 1992 after co teaching the Dale Carnegie Sale Course in his spare time and training as a Amateur Radio Operator Dennis began receiving more and more phone calls about computer questions. Finally in 1992 he left Best Printing and started Computing Solutions Inc. It was the rough and tumble days of IT and there was, at the time, no real internet provider in Arkansas. It was a matter of dial-up to a Bulletin Board, the Grape Vine and many others. Therefore he saw the introduction of 56k modems, ISDN, PRI’s and then DSL. During this time he consulted with UAMS, Eagle Bank and Trust and the Arkansas Bankers Association to name a few. Seeing new goals on the horizon he also made his first website and CD combo for Essick Air Products in Little Rock. Then came Y2k and tons of network, pc and switch updates. It was sort of a Off to the races sort of thing.

Y2K and the changes

In 2001 Dennis purchased a lot in Hot Springs Village, AR and was hooked. While he maintained and kept the computer company open, he also ventured into Real Estate with HSV People Properties . In 2003 he changed the name of Computing Solutions to WIRED! in Little Rock AR and opened an large retail space on Bowman Curve. Gaining his Security Managers License from the State of AR he then began installing video and security systems. In 2010 Dennis Simpson left and sold his interest in WIRED! and started Total Tech of AR and moved to his beloved Hot Springs Village, AR. There he met and married his dream wife, Diana Simpson a sweet, local lady from (greater) Donaldson, AR (small town south of Malvern). As a CPA for over 20 years she and Dennis had many business interest and a simple joy for life. They travel extensively and manage 3 Airbnb rentals on the lake near their home. Dennis also is the VP of the Computer Club of Hot Springs Village. In addition to hosting his own TV / Podcast / Facebook show called Village Venues.

Now What?

Dennis is looking forward to the 5g revolution that will usher in the DEATH of the DREADED DATA CAP. Therefore, in 12 – 18 months the Data Cap will go the way of Long Distance dialing. A long awaited death that could not come soon enough. The next stage will be Cellular Internet from Hot Spot modems. No Data Caps, no speed limits, NO WIRES!.
